  1. Marijuana


Marijuana is one of the most widely used illicit drug in the world. The plant from which it is made is Cannabis sativa. This drug is also known as “young people’s Drug”, as according to the survey, middle and high school teenagers consume this drug mostly. One can say that Marijuana is the first step towards drugs. After having this, teenagers get attracted towards new drugs, because of hallucination. Some say it is not harmful to health, as, in many countries, marijuana is prescribed by doctors to patients suffering from depression. This point changes the view of people towards Marijuana.

Side effects of this type of drugs are panic, anxiety, growth disorder, reduction of male sex hormones, damage to lungs and brain damage.

  1. Cocaine


Cocaine AKA coke or scientific name benzoylmethylecgonine. It is taken by many ways from which sniffing through the nose is one of the common ones while injecting in veins or smoking it are others. The addiction of this drug is so harmful, that after a short period of time, it became a need. If a person doesn’t get it, he suffers from depression or goes wild.

There is another type of cocaine known as crack cocaine, which is cheaper, but more intense than the regular one. Because of its cheap price, this drugs usage is increasing worldwide.

There are many dangerous side effects of cocaine. Some of them are hyperstimulation, Nausea, destruction of nose tissues, infectious diseases, malnutrition etc


  1. Heroin


It is a type of opioid drug, which is made from morphine, extraction from a plant known as a poppy plant. Heroin can be found in three types; white powder, brown powder or like a sticky substance in black color, which is known as “black tar heroin”. As heroin enters the body, it gets converted back into morphine, which binds to the opioid receptors molecules of a cell, which is responsible for automatic processes like blood pressure and respiration.

Long term side effects of heroin are the loss of memory, insomnia, depression, pustules on the face, coma, breathing problems, muscle weakness and much more.

  1. Meth


Meth is also known as crank, chalk and speed. Scientific name methamphetamine, it is a white crystal-like substance that is taken by snorting, smoking or injected by needle. It makes a wrong sense of confidence, hyperactiveness, happiness and energy in the user’s body. It affects last long for 8 to maybe 24 hours.  This drug is known as a “party drug”, as it affect last long and a person is in the hyperactive and happy mood.

Side effects of crystal meth are psychosis, brain damage, damage to blood vessels of the heart, malnutrition, strong psychological dependence, death from high dosage etc.

  1. Ecstasy


Ecstasy AKA molly, scientific name Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), is a synthetic drug that changes the view of a person and awareness towards surrounded objects and conditions.  It is mainly popular as rave party drug, as it gives a user a tremendous amount of energy due to which user loses it mind and get hyperactive. It is taken in the form of the capsule or a tablet.

It affects three parts of the brain that cause changes in the body:-

  • Dopamine –  increase in energy and activities
  • Norepinephrine – increase in heart rate and blood pressure
  • Serotonin – affects sleep, appetite, and mood


Hazardous Side effects of Ecstasy are damage to the part of the brain responsible for learning and emotions, loss of memory, kidney failure, degeneration of nerve branches, death.
